  • Broad & Bright Opens Hong Kong and Guangzhou Offices

    Broad & Bright is pleased to announce the opening of its Hong Kong and Guangzhou Offices.

    Broad & Bright Hong Kong Office was established on June 13, 2014, and is a registered foreign law firm and in association with CFN Lawyers, Hong Kong local law firm. Broad & Bright and CFN Lawyers jointly held a cocktail party celebrating the association between firms on June 26, 2014.

    Jun JI and Philips Z. DING are the resident partners of the Hong Kong office. They will split their time between Hong Kong office and Beijing/Shanghai offices.

    Guangzhou Office is led by Mr. Hui DONG, office managing partner, who is supported by Mr. Kai Yuan (Keith), corporate partner, and Taotao Zhu, a Japanese speaking counsel. The Judicial Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality has granted the practicing license to Broad & Bright Guangzhou Office.

    Guangzhou and Hong Kong offices will work seamlessly to serve multinational companies’ business in Southern China.

  • The 1st Cross-Strait Forum for Economics and Finance Legal Practices jointly organized by Broad & Bright and NCCU Center for Corporate Governance was held in National Chengchi University on June 10, 2014. It has attracted more than 200 participants from academic and governmental area in Taiwan.

    Mr. Jun Ji, Mr. Philips Ding, Mr. Linzhu Wang, Mr. Hui Dong, Mr. Weiwei Weng, Mr. Yifan Chen, Ms. Jinlin Sun, Mr. Chongan Chen, and others from Broad & Bright attended the 1st Cross-Strait Forum for Economics and Finance Legal Practices jointly organized by Broad & Bright and NCCU Center for Corporate Governance. Lawyers from Broad & Bright and professors from NCCU discussed in detail various hot topics in cross-strait legal practice, in terms of merger and acquisition, intellectual property law, engineering law and received positive feedback from the audience.

    During this trip, Broad & Bright lawyers have also visited PWC Taiwan and Formosan Brothers Attorneys-at-Law. Except for exchanging experience in providing legal service for foreign investment in China, Broad & Bright has also took a steady step in the development of further cooperation and better customer service.

  • Firm retreat to Kagoshima, Japan

  • Broad & Bright represented Merck KGaAin the merger control filing in China.   • Broad & Bright advised a European company on its layoff of 440 employees due to relocation of manufacturing plants.   • Jenny Zhong led Broad & Bright team to advise VMware in its collaboration with China Telecom (“CT”) to build a virtual cloud operation center under the brand CT e-Cloud services Powered by VMware.
